Labradorite and Hammered Antique Copper P008

The hamered copper bar is 3" wide a Labradorite, atural gemstone, affixed to the center.  The copper bar has been given an antique appearance by torching the he copper and adding a metal patina to enhance the colors.  The metal patina was then partially removed beore the stone was affixed.  The chain is made from Labradorite chips and antique copper spacers. The chain is 26" long and may be shortened to 16" if desired accoring to the apparel neckline it is  worn with. 

The meaning of the Labradorite stone comes from the location in which it was first found, as it was named Labrador Canada. It is also several other locations as well.  Labradorite is an unusual mineral. It can display a beautiul blue/gray iridescent play of colors caused by internal fractures in the mineral that reflect light back and forth.
